EBAN – your gateway to the European angel community
NorBAN is the Norwegian member of EBAN – the European Business Angel Network, the pan-European association for early-stage investors. EBAN brings together angel networks, federations, funds and platforms from across Europe and beyond, and represents them towards the EU institutions in Brussels.
Through NorBAN, our members get affiliate membership of EBAN – European dealflow, education, research and events – included in NorBAN membership at Angel Investor level and above.
Why EBAN matters if you invest from Norway
Norway is a small pond. Most Norwegian angels see Norwegian deals, co-invest with Norwegian angels and compare notes with Norwegian peers. EBAN is how you widen that – without giving up the local network.

A searchable member directory, personal introductions, and thematic communities you can join: Impact, Health, Space, Central & Eastern Europe, and the BAN Managers community for people who run angel networks.
Education
The EBAN Academy and EBAN TV, plus guides on angel investing, process and term-sheet templates, and tools for evaluating and managing deals.
Research and data
The annual Statistics Compendium on European early-stage investment, the Co-Investment Funds Compendium, the Fiscal Incentives Compendium, and sector reports on areas such as space tech and agrifood.
Policy and advocacy
Position papers and direct representation of early-stage investors towards the EU institutions, the OECD and national policymakers.
NorBAN's seat at the European table
NorBAN is not a passive member of EBAN. Our people help run it — which means Norwegian priorities reach the European agenda directly, without going through an intermediary.
EBAN Board member:Rita Anson
NorBAN's General Secretary sits on the EBAN Board of Directors, representing Norway, and serves on the EBAN Executive Committee.
Rita also chairs the EBAN Gender Equality initiative — EBAN’s work on closing the gender gap in European angel investing, on both sides of the table: among the investors writing cheques and among the founders receiving them.

The lead of NorBAN's Defence & Security Expert Initiative is a founding member of the Defence Angels European Network.
DAEN is Europe’s first pan-European angel network dedicated to defence and security technologies, built by EBAN and Business Angels Europe together with Bpifrance and more than twenty national and regional angel networks. It went operational in February 2026, with Norway among the sixteen participating countries.
Both roles grew out of NorBAN’s Expert Initiatives — member-led groups that any member can join.
Helping other angel networks get built
A bigger, better-connected European angel community is worth more to our members than a well-defended national one. So when a country has active angels but no national network tying them together, we help build one.
SweBAN - Swedish Business Angel Networks
Sweden had plenty of active angel groups but no national body connecting them. NorBAN together with EBAN initiated and drove the effort to change that: we advised on the structure and governance of the new association, and put time into this alongside the Swedish founding partners.
The result is SweBAN, a non-profit network of networks supporting angel groups across Sweden through shared dealflow, exchange of expertise, and lobbying for a better early-stage investment climate, built on the NorBAN model.
What it means for NorBAN members
- Shared events and member meetings across the two networks such as their Nordic Funding Day and Stockholm Demo Day.
- A Swedish space for Norwegian angels to enter, and a Norwegian one for the Swedish angels.
- A wider Nordic pool of people to compare notes and syndicate investments along with.
- A stronger Nordic voice inside EBAN, where both networks are represented on the board.
The same instinct sits behind our EBAN membership: the value of a network grows with the number of serious people in it.
Conferences and events
Events are where most of EBAN’s value turns into actual introductions. As an affiliate you are invited to the whole calendar, at member rates.

- EBAN Annual Congress – the main gathering of European angel investors, hosted in a different European city each year, with sector tracks, startup competitions, a dedicated BAN Managers programme and the Gala Awards.
- European Angel Investment Summit – EBAN's autumn conference on investment trends, cross-border syndication and policy.
- Pitching sessions and community meetups – smaller, thematic sessions where members source and share deals.
- Webinars and Academy sessions – shorter online formats you can join from your desk in Norway.

Affiliate membership of EBAN is included in NorBAN membership from the Angel Investor level and up – alongside our affiliate memberships with SMB Norway and Abelia. You register directly with EBAN as a member of NorBAN.

How to activate it
- 1. For NorBAN members at Angel Investor level.
- 2. Register at eban.org and select NorBAN as the network you belong to.
- 3. Confirm your account, log in to the EBAN member area and fill in your investor profile so the directory and introductions work for you.
If EBAN asks for an affiliate registration code, or anything else does not go through, contact the NorBAN administration and we will sort it out.
