NorBAN newsletter October 2023: NorBAN relaunches and merges with Business Angels Norway

Dear angel investor,
As a previously registered investor or participant at one or more Business Angels Norway events, you are among the first to hear that BAN has merged with NorBAN – Norwegian Business Angel Network to create one national angel network in Norway. Welcome to the new NorBAN.
Welcome to the new NorBAN
The aim of Business Angels Norway has always been to strengthen the environment for angel investing in Norway. To serve that aim better, we have joined forces with NorBAN, which has always been our sister organisation, so that we can represent and support all Norwegian business angels at home and abroad. We believe the change will strengthen the Norwegian angel community further: we can now bring our members, events and activities together and build our position as the leading national network for business angels in Norway.
As a result, the new NorBAN has a new chairman, Svein-Magnus Sørensen, previously a member of the BAN board, and remains the main national interest organisation and network for Norwegian angel investors. We have also renewed the organisation with a new profile, a new board and a new membership model – more on this below. We believe the merger is the best way to bring the Norwegian angel community together and strengthen the environment for angel investing in Norway.
Relaunch event
To mark the renewal we are holding a relaunch meeting on Tuesday 24 October at Mesh Café Nationaltheateret, where we will present the new NorBAN and the board’s plans for the organisation. It is also the launch of our new monthly meeting for NorBAN members: the Last Tuesday Angel Mixer.

Membership of NorBAN
To strengthen our member base and focus on the members who contribute actively to the association, we have updated NorBAN’s membership model to three paid membership levels, with Aspirant membership from NOK 890 a year.
Everyone who has taken part in Business Angels Norway events is offered free membership for November and December when registering as an active member at the Aspirant or Investor level.
This equals a 20% discount on the annual membership fee, using the discount code «relaunch2023» when registering at www.norban.no/become-an-angel.
We hope you will join the relaunch meeting and look forward to welcoming you as an active NorBAN member. You will continue to benefit from the resources, events and advantages that BAN and NorBAN have offered so far, and we hope you will help build a more dynamic and valuable organisation and make use of the new opportunities we are working to establish.
