NorBAN newsletter Q2 2025: annual meeting, Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, Nordic Ignite and new member discounts

This newsletter was sent to NorBAN’s subscribers on 21 May 2025. Dates, offers and links are as they were at the time.

Welcome to the second issue of the quarterly newsletter from NorBAN, the business angel association.

With the deadline for annual accounts approaching, this is a busy time for companies and investors alike, and many also need to find time for the demo days and pitch competitions held across the ecosystem, including at TheFactory, Charge and Tech Nordic Advocates. For those focused on the Baltics, Latitude59 has just taken place in Tallinn, and Mashup in Malmö is a week away. So even though capital is still scarce for companies, there is a lot going on in the ecosystem, in Norway and across the Nordics. NorBAN has a full programme too, so whether you are actively looking for new investments or waiting for an exit, we hope to see you at some of the activities described below.

We hope you find this update useful and that you will help us build a stronger startup ecosystem in Norway. Perhaps you will consider a membership and join us at a future monthly Angel Mixer.

Kind regards,

NorBAN board, Svein-Magnus Sørensen, chairman

Join NorBAN at TechBBQ in Copenhagen

TechBBQ logo

NorBAN is a partner of TechBBQ, the startup and investment conference in Copenhagen on 26–28 August 2025, and we invite members and others in the Norwegian entrepreneurship and investor community to attend with us.

Everyone in our network gets 25% off the conference fee and up to 20% off a range of summits and side events – a saving of more than NOK 2,300 on a single investor ticket, which is more than the membership costs.

Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs

Through the EU project Seedbridge, NorBAN has become the first Norwegian contact point for international exchanges in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme. Aspiring founders can have their costs covered while they gain experience working with an established startup abroad.

Investment opportunity: Nordic Ignite

Nordic Ignite logo

As some of you know, several of the people behind NorBAN are also involved in the angel investment company Nordic Ignite. Its 79 shareholders form a network of angels who, with a focus on sustainability and gender balance, evaluate and invest in startups in the Nordics. Since it started in 2020 it has made eight investments against strict criteria, and Nordic Ignite has become a visible player in the ecosystem, with more than 100 companies assessed so far this year.

Nordic Ignite is currently running a small capital raise that lets new angels join the network. The round, planned to close in early June, aims to raise around €300K in total, with a minimum ticket of €10,000 and a pre-money valuation of €2.7M. This will give the company runway for new investments well into 2026, when a larger raise is planned.

If this is of interest, contact Nordic Ignite, or download a one-pager PDF with more information.
